US-based Playboy accuses Yiwu company of trademark infringement

Beijing (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Playboy Enterprises International is taking three
domestic companies and a Chinese individual to court for alleged trademark infringement and involvement in unfair competition.
Playboy claims the Hong Kong and Shenzen-based Pearlboy Group (whose Chinese name means "new playboy"), and the Yiwu Hiwell Clothing Factory in East China's Zhejiang Province have produced shirts with similar logos to Playboy.

While Beijing retailer Chen Xiongjun has also been charged with selling Pearlboy and Hiwell trademarked shirts. Playboy is asking for US$69,490 in compensation. The Beijing No 2 Intermediate People's Court will rule on the case.
